Key Benefits of OpenAI Ads CAPI Integration

Bridge the gap between client-side limitations and accurate advertising data on the newest ad surface in eCommerce — campaigns that run inside ChatGPT.
Advanced Conversion Tracking

Bridge the OpenAI Ads pixel and the Conversions API to capture every critical interaction—purchases, add-to-carts, and checkout steps—even when client-side scripts are blocked.

Enhanced Data Privacy Control

Server-side data sharing gives you granular control over what is sent to OpenAI. The Conversions API Key authorizes every request as a Bearer header and is never exposed to the browser.

Future-Proof Implementation

Stay ahead of browser updates with a hybrid approach that combines the OpenAI Ads pixel's flexibility with server-side reliability, ensuring consistent reporting on an advertising surface that is still evolving fast.

Centralized Data Management

Consolidate your Magento 2 store's OpenAI Ads signals through a single API connection. Streamline pixel implementation, reduce duplication, and keep attribution clean across every funnel touchpoint.

Event Tracking Features

Track every meaningful customer interaction server-side — from the first page view to the final purchase — with the same events the OpenAI Ads platform expects.
Core Commerce Events

Server-side Purchase event delivery, Server-side InitiateCheckout event tracking, Server-side AddToCart event tracking.

Engagement Events

Server-side PageView event tracking, Server-side ViewContent event tracking, Server-side Signup event tracking.

Powerful Integration

Track selected events in conjunction with the frontend OpenAI Ads pixel — shared event IDs let OpenAI deduplicate automatically. Directly and fully integrated into the Google Analytics 4 PRO extension. Ability to send data to multiple OpenAI Ads pixel endpoints.

Developer Tools

Test Mode that validates payloads against the OpenAI API without recording conversions. File logging plus a built-in admin Log Viewer for exploring API payloads without server access. Option to track only specific customer groups. Easy setup with just the OpenAI Ads Pixel ID and Conversions API Key.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The addon sends ecommerce events from your Magento server directly to OpenAI's Conversions API: PageView, ViewContent, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, Purchase, and Signup. Server-side delivery ensures complete conversion data for OpenAI Ads campaigns running inside ChatGPT.

OpenAI Ads campaigns are shown inside ChatGPT. This addon reports your Magento 2 store's conversions to OpenAI server-side, so campaign performance is measured accurately in your OpenAI Ads dashboard even when browser tracking is blocked.

Browser-based pixels are affected by ad blockers, Intelligent Tracking Prevention, and cookie restrictions. Server-side tracking bypasses these limitations and gives OpenAI complete conversion data for campaign measurement and optimization on a brand-new ad surface.

Yes. The OpenAI Ads Conversions API Addon requires the WeltPixel Google Analytics 4 PRO extension, version 1.17.3 or higher, where the client-side OpenAI Ads pixel is configured. The addon extends that setup with server-side delivery through the same reliable data pipeline.

Yes. Server-side and browser-based tracking can run simultaneously. Both copies of an event share the same event ID, so OpenAI deduplicates them into a single conversion and you get maximum data coverage without double-counting.

The addon is compatible with Magento Open Source, Commerce, and Cloud editions, integrating through GA4 PRO's shared server-side infrastructure across all Magento platforms.

OpenAI Ads is early access and currently open to advertisers in a limited set of countries, with availability expanding. The addon works wherever your OpenAI Ads account is active.
