Triple Whale vs WeltPixel Conversion Tracking: An Honest Comparison

TL;DR

Triple Whale is an attribution and analytics platform with an AI operator on top, and it happens to own a very good first-party pixel. WeltPixel Conversion Tracking is a pixel and a delivery pipe. Most of what Triple Whale charges for has no equivalent on our side, so most of this page is not a comparison at all. Where the two products touch is narrow: a storefront pixel, server-side conversion delivery, and the monthly bill. On that strip, their meter is annual GMV, declared on a slider on their own pricing page, and Foundation runs $219 to $2,529 a month across nine published bands, Automate $749 to $4,199 [1]. Ours is $39, flat, with no meter [4]. There is no band where they cost less. Their free plan is real and includes their pixel, but their server-side conversion product starts on Foundation at $219 [1]. We build WeltPixel Conversion Tracking, so treat this the way you would treat any vendor's comparison: every number below came from a public page on August 24, 2026.

Most of This Comparison Is Not a Comparison

Start with the concession, because putting a $219 plan next to a $39 plan is dishonest unless the scope is on the table first.

Triple Whale sells multi-touch attribution with seven models and five lookback windows. It sells more than 50 dashboard templates, a no-code builder, a SQL editor, cohort analysis, creative analytics, profit and inventory analysis and peer benchmarks. It sells Moby, an AI operator that schedules work and acts inside ad accounts. It sells Compass, which runs geo-lift and conversion-lift incrementality studies and reconciles them against the attribution model. It sells post-purchase surveys, Amazon ingest, warehouse export and a mobile app [1][3].

We publish no equivalent to any of that. Not a lighter version, not a roadmap item. If those are the things you are shopping for, the rest of this article is irrelevant to your decision.

What is left after that subtraction is small: a first-party pixel on the storefront, server-side conversion delivery to ad platforms, and the monthly bill. That is the only strip the numbers below describe.

What Does Triple Whale Actually Cost?

If you have opened their pricing page, you have already met the slider. You declare your annual GMV and the page returns a price. There is no order cap, no event cap and no overage rate anywhere on it. You sit in a band, and the band sets the number [1].

Foundation, their cheapest paid plan, reads like this across the nine bands their page publishes: $219 under $250,000 of annual GMV, $329 to $500,000, $429 to $1 million, $549 to $2.5 million, $799 to $5 million, $1,129 to $7.5 million, $1,529 to $10 million, $1,849 to $15 million, and $2,529 to $20 million. Automate runs $749 to $4,199 over the same bands. Past $20 million the page stops publishing and says talk to sales [1].

Two things follow from a meter shaped that way. Identical tracking work costs wildly different amounts: a store doing $2 million a year across 500 high-value orders a month and a store doing $2 million across 40,000 small ones both land on $549. And at the small end the bill is a visible share of the business. At the midpoint of the smallest band, $219 a month is about 2.10% of the store's monthly GMV, against 0.37% for our $39. Above $2.5 million that percentage stops mattering and the argument has to move to what the money buys.

Run the crossover test and there is nothing to report. Their cheapest paid plan is 5.6 times our flat $39 at the smallest band and 64.8 times at the largest published one. When we compared Littledata we opened by conceding that its per-order plan genuinely beats us under about 110 orders a month, because it does. There is no equivalent concession available here, and the reason is structural: their meter is the merchant's whole topline, and ours does not exist.

Why Does the App Store Listing Say $219?

Their Shopify App Store listing prints Foundation at $219 a month, or $2,190 a year, and Automate at $749 a month, or $7,490 a year. There is no annual-GMV qualifier anywhere on the listing [3].

Those annual figures are the giveaway. Their pricing page multiplies monthly by ten for annual prepaid, so $219 x 10 = $2,190 and $749 x 10 = $7,490 [1]. Both reconcile exactly. The listing is showing the lowest band, and only the lowest band.

Across the nine published bands, Foundation actually spans $219 to $2,529, an 11.55x spread. So a merchant doing $3 million a year who shortlists apps from the App Store sees $219, opens the pricing page, and is quoted $799. That is 3.65 times the number that put Triple Whale on the shortlist [1][3].

This keeps happening in this category with different mechanics each time. Stape and TrackBee show "Free" on their listings because billing runs on their own sites, which we covered in the TrackBee comparison. Triple Whale shows a real price that is real for its smallest customers. Neither is a rule violation. Both mean the listing price is a starting point for research rather than an answer.

What Changed Between March and August 2026?

We read the price arrays inside their own pricing page twice: once through an archived snapshot from March 6, 2026, and once live on August 24 [1][2]. Four changes sit between the two readings.

The $149 Starter rung was deleted. That moved the cheapest paid plan from $149 to $219 at the smallest band, up 47%, with increases of 14% to 65% at every other band. The plan named "Advanced" in March is named "Foundation" now, at numerically identical prices across all nine bands. The top self-serve plan rose 45% to 80%, from $449 to $749 at the smallest band. And the published-price ceiling fell from roughly $50 million of annual GMV to roughly $20 million, so three bands that carried public numbers in March are quote-only today [1][2].

The add-on arrays did not move at all. Retention still runs $79 to $749 and Conversion still runs $19 to $219 across the same bands, both metered on GMV like everything else, which their marketing copy does not mention [1].

The practical takeaway is a habit rather than a number: date every claim about what a competitor's cheapest plan costs, including the ones in this article.

Where the Two Products Actually Touch

Their server-side conversion product is Sonar Optimize. Their own description of it reads "Optimize Meta performance with enriched first-party customer and conversion data via conversion API integrations", so the platform their published description names is Meta [1]. Sonar is included on every paid package and is not on the free plan, which means the cheapest route to their server-side delivery is $219 a month.

We send server-side conversions to GA4, Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, Reddit, OpenAI ads and Pinterest ads, plus Klaviyo for email and SMS, all on the $39 plan [4]. Browser events respect Shopify's Customer Privacy API signals.

One distinction is worth keeping straight because it cuts both ways. The long list of ad platforms on Triple Whale's pricing page, naming Meta, Google, Snapchat, Pinterest, TikTok, Microsoft, X, Taboola, Outbrain, Criteo, Adroll and MNTN, is an analytics ingest list [1]. It describes spend and performance data flowing into their dashboards. That is a different job from pushing conversions out to those platforms, and reading either list as the other will give you the wrong answer about both products. If you want a wider view of how the field prices this job, our nine-app roundup has the pricing index.

Their free plan is real. It costs $0, carries no revenue qualifier, includes the Triple Pixel and first and last-click attribution, gives you 10 users and 12 months of data retention [1]. A store under $250,000 a year can run it forever. What it does not carry is server-side conversion delivery, and that is the line: free stops where Sonar starts, and on their ladder that step costs $219 a month.

Where Triple Whale Is the Better Choice

Five cases, all sourced from their published material.

Buy Triple Whale if your decisions turn on which touchpoint got credit. Multi-touch attribution, Total Impact Attribution blended with post-purchase survey data, seven models and five lookback windows are a category we do not sell [1].

Buy it if you want one dashboard covering ad spend, Amazon, subscriptions, shipping, profit, inventory, cohorts, LTV and creative performance, with a SQL editor underneath [1][3].

Buy it if you want an AI operator rather than a report. Moby watches spend and acts inside ad accounts within guardrails, and whatever you make of that category, we have nothing in it [1].

Buy it if you need marketing mix modelling or incrementality testing. Compass runs geo-lift and conversion-lift studies and calibrates them against the attribution model [1].

And buy it if you are a very small store that wants free tracking with attribution. Their free tier beats ours for that job: no order cap, their pixel included, first and last-click attribution at $0. Our Discovery plan is GA4 only, up to 100 storefront orders a month [4].

Key Takeaways

  • Triple Whale meters annual GMV, not orders and not events. Foundation runs $219 under $250,000 and $2,529 at $15 to $20 million; above $20 million there is no published price [1].
  • No published Triple Whale band costs less than $39. The cheapest paid plan is 5.6x our flat price at the smallest band and 64.8x at the largest published one [1][4].
  • Their App Store listing shows $219 with no revenue qualifier. A $3 million GMV store pays $799, which is 3.65x the listed figure [1][3].
  • Their free plan is genuinely free and includes their pixel, but server-side conversion delivery through Sonar starts on Foundation at $219 [1].
  • Between March 6 and August 24, 2026 they deleted the $149 Starter rung, renamed Advanced to Foundation at identical prices, raised the top self-serve plan 45% to 80%, and pulled published pricing above roughly $20 million of annual GMV [1][2].
  • Most of what Triple Whale sells, attribution modelling, the BI layer, Moby and Compass, has no equivalent on our side. If that is what you want, buy it [1][3].

FAQ

How much does Triple Whale cost?

Triple Whale prices on annual GMV, declared on a slider on their pricing page. Foundation runs $219 a month under $250,000 of annual GMV and $2,529 a month at $15 to $20 million; Automate runs $749 to $4,199 across the same nine bands. Above $20 million the page publishes no price. Prices exclude tax and the published rates are for 12-month subscriptions (published prices, August 24, 2026) [1].

Is Triple Whale cheaper than WeltPixel at any store size?

No, not on any published band. Their cheapest paid plan is $219 a month, which is 5.6 times our flat $39 at the smallest band and 64.8 times at $15 to $20 million. Their free plan costs $0 and is genuinely free, but it carries no server-side conversion-API delivery [1][4].

Does Triple Whale send server-side conversions?

Yes, through Sonar Optimize, which is included on every paid package and not on the free plan. Their published description of it names Meta: "Optimize Meta performance with enriched first-party customer and conversion data via conversion API integrations." The cheapest route to it is therefore $219 a month. WeltPixel sends server-side conversions to seven ad and analytics platforms plus Klaviyo on the $39 plan [1][4].

Can I switch from Triple Whale to WeltPixel without losing data?

Conversion history lives in your ad platforms and GA4 accounts rather than inside the tracking app, so it stays where it is. Install WeltPixel, verify events on each platform, then disable the other pixel so purchases are not double-counted. What does not transfer is anything that only exists inside Triple Whale: dashboards, attribution history and survey responses [1][4].

What does Triple Whale do that WeltPixel doesn't?

Multi-touch attribution with seven models and five lookback windows, more than 50 dashboard templates with a SQL editor under them, creative and profit analysis, post-purchase surveys, Moby their AI operator, and Compass for marketing mix modelling and incrementality testing. We publish no equivalent to any of it. We sell conversion delivery: browser and server-side events to eight destinations for $39 flat [1][3][4].

If your ad spend runs through GA4, Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, Reddit, Pinterest or ChatGPT ads and what you need is conversions arriving accurately rather than a dashboard to read them in, install WeltPixel Conversion Tracking.
